I first started showing when I became a member of the Guernsey Junior Handlers Assosiation 28 years ago.
The first dog I handled was a black Minature Poodle called Logan who was owned by Jean Thoume. I was always keen to handle different breeds, including Borzoi, Irish Setter, Great Dane, and Shetland Sheepdog so that I got used to the different styles of handling.

As a child I competed in Guernsey, Jersey and the Uk. In the mid 80's I travelled to Jersey with Mums' American cocker Sugar-Kemkerry Sugar pye to meet some of the Jersey Junior and Senior handlers.
From there we sailed to the Uk for a week of showing at some of the Uk Championship shows, including Leicester, Whitney and District, Poole, Windsor and of course Richmond Junior Handling semi finals.
At Richmond I was placed 3rd out of 48! Which at age 8 I was very
proud of!

Also locally I was Junior Handler of the year in the mid 80s'.
I also competed in The Inter Island-Matches held in Jersey each year, which included being judged in Junior Handling, obedience and Grooming of our chosen breed.

Now 28 years on I have a wonderful Partner and 3 boys, Connor 15, Zachary 10 and Joel 9.
My 2 younger sons' now compete in Junior Handling locally and they make me proud everytime I watch them!
